2019 National Academy

2019 Next Gen Sector Partnership Academy

Austin, Texas

February 12 & 13, 2019

Join us in Austin, Texas for the second national, peer-driven Next Generation Sector Partnership Academy on February 12 and 13, 2019. Learn directly from the nation's leading Next Gen Sector Partnership practitioner-faculty about what it takes to build and sustain deeper partnerships with business and industry and align education, training, and economic development programs around the needs of your regional economy.

The Next Gen approach marries the best of what we know nationally about effective workforce sector strategies and economic cluster strategies. It’s the modern approach to growing good jobs and connecting people to them.

  • Receive technical assistance and training from the only venue in the U.S. that trains on the unique Next Gen model of sector partnership development.

  • Get real advice on what works (as well as the pitfalls) from official Next Gen faculty, experienced conveners of top-performing Next Gen Sector Partnerships from around the nation.

  • Leave with tips, tools, and resources to build new partnerships and take existing partnerships to the next level.

Who Should Attend?

The Academy is designed for regional or state-level teams. Discounted rates will apply for those who register as a full team. The Academy is designed both for teams who are brand new to the Next Gen Sector Partnership approach as well for teams who need a refresh or restart to their partnership-building efforts.

  • Regional teams should be made up of 6-10 people from workforce development, education, economic development, and other stakeholders who are interested in the nuts and bolts process of planning, launching, and organizing the aftermath of strong Next Gen Sector Partnerships. Learn more by reading our team building guidance document, and scroll down to find information on our scheduled team building calls.

  • State-level teams should include 6-10 decision-makers from state workforce development, education, and economic development systems who are looking for ways to work together to foster the development of regional Next Gen Sector Partnerships.

Space for individuals will also be available, but preference in rate and space will be given to teams! Due to high demand, all spaces will be reserved for practitioners, i.e. people who are employed by a workforce, education or economic development organization, or individuals from State agencies. Other interested stakeholders (including Federal Government representatives, national organizations, and consultants) will only be able to register by invitation only. If you are unsure of eligibility, please inquire at info@nextgensectorpartnerships.com.
