About

The second national, peer-driven Next Generation Sector Partnership Academy is taking place in Austin, Texas on February 12 and 13, 2019.

Learn directly from the nation's leading Next Gen Sector Partnership business and community partner practitioner-faculty about what it takes to build and sustain deeper industry-led partnerships and align education, training, and economic development programs around the needs of your regional economy! Throughout the Academy business and community partners will:

  • Receive technical assistance and training from the only venue in the U.S. that trains on the unique Next Gen model of sector partnership development.

  • Get real advice on what works (as well as the pitfalls) from official Next Gen faculty, experienced conveners of top-performing Next Gen Sector Partnerships from around the nation.

  • Leave with tips, tools, and resources to build new partnerships and take existing partnerships to the next level.

Due to high demand registration closed after the early bird deadline. Please be on the lookout for future events. Let us know if you have ideas on trainings that you’d find valuable or other ideas to share at info@nextgensectorpartnerships.com

Who Should Attend?

The Academy is designed for regional or state-level teams of community partners and business champions. Discounted rates will apply for those who register as a full team. The Academy is designed both for teams who are brand new to the Next Gen Sector Partnership approach as well for teams who need a refresh or restart to their partnership-building efforts.

  • Regional teams should be made up of 6-10 business and community leaders from workforce development, education, economic development, industry, and other stakeholders who are interested in the nuts and bolts process of planning, launching, and organizing the aftermath of strong Next Gen Sector Partnerships. Learn more by reading our team building guidance document and FAQs.

  • Businesses are encouraged to participate on your teams! Do you have business leaders eager to roll up their sleeves and launch a partnership or take a partnership to the next level? The Academy offers a spot for business leaders to gather new insights, learn from one another, and leave inspired for further action. The agenda will feature breakout sessions designed by and for business leaders.  Find a sample business invitation here.

  • State-level teams should include 6-10 decision-makers from state workforce development, education, and economic development systems who are looking for ways to work together to foster the development of regional Next Gen Sector Partnerships.

Space for individuals is available, but preference in rate and space will be given to teams! Due to high demand, all spaces will be reserved for practitioners, i.e. people who are employed by a workforce, education or economic development organization, or individuals from State agencies. Other interested stakeholders (including Federal Government representatives, national organizations, and consultants) will only be able to register by invitation only. If you are unsure of eligibility, please inquire at info@nextgensectorpartnerships.com.

Please note that we are only able to offer refunds for canceled registrations before January 9th. We are not able to offer refunds after January, 9th.
